Grupa Samael podpisała wielopłytową umowę z gigantem - Nuclear Blast. W nowych barwach ukaże się najbliższa płyta zespołu zatytułowana „Solar Soul”. Materiał nagrany został pod koniec zeszłego roku w w Szwajcarii, a nastepnie miksowany w Szwecji. Obecnie płyta jest na etapie masteringu. Znanych jest już kilka tytułów utworów: Solar Soul, Promised Land, Slavocracy, Western Ground, On The Rise. Album ukaże się 1 czerwca.

Dimmu Borgir was originally founded as a black metal band in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz, and Tjodalv. The band released an EP entitled Inn I Evighetens Mørke (1994) translated to English the title means "Into The Darkness of Eternity". This short EP sold out within weeks, and the band followed up with the full length album For All Tid (1994). This album featured musical contributions by members of Dødheimsgard and Ved Buens Ende. Interestingly enough, Shagrath played drums with Tjodalv on guitar and Erkekjetter (translating "arch heretic") Silenoz covering vocals. This lineup changed before the release of Stormblåst (translates to "Storm Blown") on Cacophonous Records in 1996. Stormblåst received high praise from many melodic black metal fans, and is often regarded as a highlight of the band's career. It is also the last album which features all lyrics written and sung in Norwegian.

After Stormblåst, Dimmu Borgir's career took a sharp turn. Keyboardist Stian Aarstad left the band due to his obligation to serve in the Norwegian army, thus he was not able to participate in the recording of Devil's Path (1996). That period was also marked by the leave of their bassist Brynjard Tristan and the arrival of Nagash. Stian Aarstad returned for the recording of Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997). On the tour to support the album he had trouble attending rehearsals and tour dates, and he was fired from the band. Enthrone Darkness Triumphant was a huge success for the band, and it was their first release signed to the famous German record label Nuclear Blast. It was recorded in the Abyss Studios, owned by Hypocrisy's mainman Peter Tägtgren.

After the tour for Enthrone Darkness Triumphant the band recruited new members Mustis on keyboards and Astennu on second guitar so that Shagrath could concentrate on vocals.

Dimmu Borgir's following full-length albums Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999) and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (2001) both met critical acclaim. Some fans accused the band of "selling out" due to the mass audiences which the albums reached.

Despite regular video play on MTV2 and Fuse TV that their follow-up album would receive, the band has stated that they are not "commercially-oriented," and instead, they simply wish to spread their message to more people. In 2003, Dimmu Borgir used their major record label financial leverage to create a monumental album titled Death Cult Armageddon. Sections of the album were recorded with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra to enhance the classical arrangements which have always augmented the band's style.

In 2005, the band did a complete re-recording of the Stormblåst album, featuring Hellhammer of Mayhem fame as the session drummer.

Silenoz has revealed on the Dimmu Borgir website that their new album, In Sorte Diaboli, is mixed and ready for mastering. According to a recent myspace bulletin posted by the official Dimmu Borgir myspace crew, the album will be released April 24, 2007. The album artwork was recently released on February 14, 2007 on a promotional webpage for the album [1].

Dimmu Borgir will be playing the 2007 Download Festival on Friday 8.

Są takie rzeczy, do których trzeba dojrzeć. Gorguts to zespół ceniony przez wielu, ale o którym jakoś się nigdy nie wspomina. "Obscura" uchodzi za ich największe dzieło, toteż dawno temu postanowiłem zostać zniszczony geniuszem tego krążka, ale trudno - nie udało się i Gorguts poszedł w zapomnienie. Death metal w wydaniu Gorguts w ogóle mi nie odpowiadał.

23 marca ukaże się szybszy, mocniejszy i bardziej agresywny następca albumu "Yell it is out". Płytę będą charakteryzowały wpadające w ucho melodie w polaczeniu z brutalnymi basami i mocnymi bitami oraz zimny i przekształcony, syntetyczny wokal. Pierwsze 999 limitownych kopii pojawi sie w postaci podwójnego CD. Na drugiej płycie znajdą sie zremiksowane oraz kilka wcześniej nieopublikowanych kawałków.

Dimmu Borgir will release their long awaited album on April 27th: on top of that, "In Sorte Diaboli" is also gonna be the first concept album in the band`s history. The single "The Serpentine Offering" will be available from March 30th on to download. Beside the standard version there also two non-album versions included. The album`s story will be set in medieval Europe.

Wkrótce ukaże się nowy album Megadeth "United Abominations". Już dziś można posłuchać pochodzącego z niego mp3 noszącego tytuł "Sleepwalker." Utwór udostępniony jest przez Roadrunner Records i dostępny będzie tylko przez krótki czas. Sam album jak potwierdził Dave ukaże się 8 maja i ma brzemic jak stary dobry Megadeth z lat 80.

Album, który przez wielu uważany jest za szczytowe osiągnięcie Szwedów, który w pewien sposób rewolucjonizuje muzykę metalową, który w odważny sposób łączy style. Takie jest właśnie "Theli". Już "Lepaca Kliffoth" pokazała nieśmiałe wykorzystywanie bardziej klasycznych form muzycznych, ale muzyka osadzona była jeszcze w death metalu. Tutaj sprawa ma się inaczej. Chór i symfonika są tutaj nieodzownym elementem muzyki.

Historia pamięta takie lata, kiedy na rynku muzycznym pojawiło się sporo genialnych albumów, a 1999 był szczególny - wystarczy wspomnieć Liquid Tension Experiment "2", Opeth "Still Life", Dream Theater "Scenes From A Memory", Anathema "Judgement", Immortal "At The Heart Of Winter", Control Denied "The Fragile Art Of Existence", Emperor "IX Equilibrium" czy właśnie My Dying Bride "Light At The End Of The World". Na temat tego ostatniego można by napisać nawet pracę doktorską.

My Dying Bride jest jak kameleon - w każdym kolejnym albumem zmienia oblicze, ale wciąż jest to ten sam zespół. "Songs Of Darkness Words Of Light" jest następcą "Dreadful Hours" - albumu, który raczej nie zdobył szerszego uznania wśród fanów. Jakie więc oblicze przyjął teraz MDB?

Jedni się nimi oczarowali, inny znienawidzili ich od samego początku. "Conspiracy In Mind", bo o nim mowa to niewątpliwie jeden z najciekawszych debiutów ostatnich lat. Ni stąd ni zowąd pojawiła się bowiem kapela, która w umiejętny sposób połączyła różnorodne style w jedność. Powiem więcej - Norwegowie w śmiały sposób naruszyli rejony zarezerwowane dla najlepszych.

Rzadko się zdarza, aby nagrać pod rząd dwa "odkrywcze" albumy. Therion tym razem nie pokusił się o dalsze łamanie granic, a raczej kontynuowanie i udoskonalanie stylu obranego na "Theli". "Vovin" jest bowiem w dużej mierze kontynuacją poprzedniczki.

Nie da się ukryć, że w opinii zarówno fanów jaki i krytyki, po nagraniu płyty "Born Again" Black Sabbath popadł w marazm twórczy nie mogąc odświeżyć swojego stylu. Wyjątek stanowiła płyta "Headless Cross" oraz wydany dwa lata przez omawianym tutaj wydawnictwem "Dehumanizer", gdzie wokal ponownie objął Ronnie James Dio. Euforia fanów była więc krótka, gdyż Dio szybko opuścił zespół, a w jego miejsce powrócił ponownie Tony Martin.
